Fashion Show

Fashion show has already passed for one week,however it's still fresh in my memory.I went to the fashion show at 6p.m by myself.I had waited for a long time to see this performance because I thought our clothing design was terrific and I was eager for seeing our design showed on the stage.The fashion show was taken place at the courtyard which has the best geographical location in our school that audiences can even enjoy the performance on the second or third floor.

The performance was absolutely successful.I really like the performance. The part which impressed me most was the teachers' catwalk.All the teachers' clothes were designed by students.What I want to say is that the clothes were so cool that you would never think they were made by students.The audience broke into deafening cheers when the teachers came out.Mr Harris wear a suit of retor clothes and looked like a handsome young man who had just graduated from the university.Ms Chu wear a light blue Bari Jay that made her look like a lovely cartoon character and she was so charming that boys under the stage were all shouting crazily.Ms Leung was dressed like a modern lady.Although the cloth looked normal,it made Ms Leung looked elegant and generous.

There was also a student who impressed me a lot.That was Tim,my classmate.He was the only student who caught the audience crazy.He was the only boy who dressed like a girl.Everyone was shocked when he came out.People who recognized him,all shouted his name. He became famous after the fashion show.

I do love this performance because it provides the students with lots of opportunities to be creative.It also gives students the chance to show their another visualizes.I love this performance and I hope the next year's fashion show will be more better.

Go to the Ji Ming temple

Victor and I visited the Ji Ming temple on the 3rd of May,2009.The JI Ming temple is located on the Ji Ming road.We arrived there at 4p.m.There are million of people who believe in Buddhism,and that is why I chose this temple to be our destination.

Actually,I didn't enjoy this visit very much,because I don't believe in any religions.What I only believe in is myself.The process of visiting the Ji Ming temple was boring.You could always see that many people kneeling down and offering a prayer for a couple of minutes,then kowtowed for three times.I think that is a Chinese custom.So no matter where you go,or which temple you visit,people always do the same thing again and over again.The Buddhists always believe that their wishes will come true if they offer a prayer cordially.So Buddhists usually make wishes which are about all different aspects.Such as health,business,love and so on....

The first Buddhist parishes are found in China in the 1st century AD and focused mainly on the suppression of passions by means of meditation, charity and compassion. The monastery claiming to have been the first in China is the White Horse Monastery near Luo Yang.The Buddhism has lasted in China for a long time.It affects China,but is also affected by China.The Buddhism can't survive without the society and people.People can't live their lives without Buddhism either.So that is why I think Buddhism is important,no matter in western countries or eastern countries.

Work Experience

I was completely knocked up from the 2 hour teaching,not the physical,but the psychological.I learnt a lot by this job,to be a teacher,teaching the children English in "Rei Lei" kindergarten.If you think it's easy,I'll say wrong.To be a teacher in kinder garden,you should be patient and creative.Both of these tow qualities are essential.Children are impatient in that age.Teacher should think a most interesting way that can catch children's eyes and get their attentions.Or they may jumping around the room, talking happily.It's impossible to make the children sit and listen for 40 minutes during that ages.Teacher should realize that the most time for children should be having fun, even they are in school.So the atmosphere in class should be cheerful.Teacher should think some easy words and sentences which are contained in those games,cartoons and English songs for children,in order to make them interested in English class and speaking English.


It is a wonder that I was patient enough to teach the children for 2 hours.I never think being a teacher because I think that I don't have enough patient.However I did it during this work.I am impressed by myself at that time.I even used my body language while teaching the children.Singing and dancing in the classroom.I am deeply impressed by myself.I never think I have that patience.I never think I have that courage acting in front of those children.However I did it.


There are two qualities that I think important to work effectively and safely with others to succeed as individual and collaborative workers.One is modest, the other is independent .It only makes things worse while having a conflict during a group work,even you are right.As we taught the children in REI LEI kindergarten.Teachers there talked with us before we were teaching.They gave us some advice and remind us being patient to the children.We accepted those advice because they have more teaching experiences than us and we put some our own ideas in the class to make the class be more interesting.


Although it looks easy and relax to teach the children.I was under the huge pressure at that time.I was even looking around to see whether there were some teacher looking and listen to my lesson during the break.There is no job recruiting the staffs who are not responsible,let alone teachers.As we all know,teachers are essential.If the children were flowers for our country,teachers would be the gardener.Children are the feature of a country,a country won't develop with out talented young people.However, how can a country develop without capable teachers. Teachers are always forgot because they are selfless and ingloriously.We should respect all the teachers because they are great.


I was glad to be the teacher in Rei Lei kindergarten.Thanking the school for trusting us and giving us this chance.I realize that it's important to be patient and responsible.It also provides me with the valuable work experience.It makes more easier for us if we have a job in the future.People will adapt the job more quickly with more experiences.So this work provide me with the valuable experience.I will do these works again if I have chance in the future.

A French meal

Today some of my friends and me had a big meal in a french restaurant which is called "Les 5 Sens".This restaurant's Chinese name is "Le Shang".I know this restaurant is because of XIXI who is my best friend recommend me that this restaurant's food is delicious and it's a good place to visit.We arrived at the restaurant at about 4p.m,and left at about 7p.m.What impressed me most is that the decoration and atmosphere in this restaurant,room was painted in harmonious colors,the candles lit up the room and everything was wine.

However, I am not very used to French food because some of the french dishes have got a strong smell.I really don't like it.As we all know,most Chinese have similar variety in their food.However French cuisine is extremely diverse.Personally,that is why Chinese people go to the french restaurant, to attempt different kinds of food.In "Le Shang",the boss and cooks are all from France.So that is why the food style is veritably like French, such as the traditional baguette plus cheese plus inexpensive wine.The other biggest difference from Chinese is that a french meal will last for several hours.So if you want to have a try of other countries food,this restaurant is a good place.If you just want to eat something good and you are not used to French food,then I don't recommend you to eat in this restaurant.

The exhibition of Chinese calligraphy

Today we went to a museum to see an exhibition of Chinese calligraphy.What impressed me most is that the author is a student from Nanjing foreign language school.That makes me proud because I am a student from that school too.China is one of the countries that has the longest history.Chinese calligraphy also has a long history.

Chinese calligraphy has a long history dated to 4000 years ago. No one can tell exactly when Chinese written language appeared. The oldest language discovered now is Jia Gu Wen. But Jia Gu Wen is a matures written language. The language discovered before it is Tao Wen. Tao Wen is a language far more from mature. Actually it's hard to be called a language. People think there should be some written languages between Tao Wen and Jia Gu Wen. But no supporting archaeological discovery appeared so far.

People don't know when Chinese written language appeared,but I can give an example to let people know that it has appeared for a long long time. We all know that Qin Shi Huang is one of the famous emperors.Qin Shi Huang united the old China in 221 B.C. The official language used in Qin dynasty is Xiao Zhuan. Calligraphy had already been an art at that time. Calligraphy works of Qin dynasty are always high evaluated by calligraphers in history.

Today we saw lots of kinds of calligraphy,such as JIA GU WEN,Zhen Shu and Cao shu.........I think calligraphy is not only an writing skill but also a kind of art,a treasure of Oriental arts.Every character in calligraphy is written like a beautiful flower.I love calligraphy,especially the Chinese calligraphy.I am proud of being a Chinese.

Go To Visit Beijing East Road Primary School

Yesterday,our class went to the Beijing East Road Primary School to teach the students from grade 5 a card game which is called "UNO".It was interesting because we didn't even know how to play the game before the planning class.There were also some vocabularies that we didn't know.We prepared the cards and learnt the vocabulary the day before going to the primary school.

Ms Bartell led us to the classroom when we arrived at the primary school.Each of us was arranged to one child.Most of us were too shy to talk,however the children were so lovely and active that they seemed to be our teachers and asked a lot of questions.After getting to know each other we got into the topic.At first we asked the child whether they know some of the vocabularies.Then we taught them how to prounce.Last but not the least,we introduced the game UNO to them and taught them the rules.We told them that there are 108 cards in UNO and the game is scored by keeping a running total of what each player is caught with in his hand.
We played the game in order to make them understand quickly.They didn't play very well at the beginning of the game.But they realized very well after playing for couple times.

The atmosphere was so vehement that most of us didn't hear teachers' voice even though they shouted.Time seemed like flying because we were so dedicated.One hour flied past in a flash that we should go back to our school.

I think this activity is meaningful and useful to us.We should speak English during teaching the children.This activity also seems like a quiz to test whether we are patient enough to be a teacher.A primary school teacher must be patient because the children are not old enough and they may make mistakes sometimes.The teacher should teach them patiently.I love this activity and I hope I could attend these kinds of activities in the future.

Physical activities

Health is the most important thing for a person,a healthy body is the the most prized possession for a person.It's more important than money and career,money can be earned at any time and the career can be restarted at any time.However how can you restart your life?Everyone only have one chance to live and you can't regret.So we should pay more attention to our bodies.To make me more stronger,I took some exercises during the winter holiday.

I am a good basketball player and I am crazy about playing basketball,I was one of our school basketball team and I had attended so playing basketball becomes a part of life during my holidays.I usually play with my former classmates in the gymnasium when I go back to my hometown Zhang Jiagang.Sometimes we played for an hour and sometimes played more.It depends on our moods.However I asked myself to play at least half an hour for each time.

Table tennis is not stranger to me because I had attended the table tennis match when I was at grade six,luckily I came the third.However I hardly play the table tennis during the school.In the winter holiday,I played with my uncle sometimes and I found that I am not as well as before.My destination goal is to exercise myself and just for fun.

Badminton is the new thing for me.One of my friend asked me to play badminton during the winter holiday,but I refused because badminton impressed me that it is a girl's game.After 3 days he invited me again and I agree with him. Additionally,I just have a try and I won't play it again if I think it is boring.To my surprise,playing badminton well is not a easy thing.I was out of breath after a few minutes.I was obviously defeated at last and the score is 11:2.I felt guilty after playing the badminton because I looked down on my friend for playing the badminton.I was given an illuminating lesson.We can't judge a thing by it's appearance.My body was so stiff and sore after that day.And I won't think it's a girl's game anymore.

I exercise a lot during the winter holiday,I won't give up having exercise and I will keep going to have a healthy body!

School club actuvity

In October 2008 I joined the volunteer club.The volunteer club divides into threes departments,one is to go to blind school,one is to have a volunteer work and another is to go to help stray cats and dogs.What I chose is to help stray cats and dogs.Many people realized that there are many lonely gaffers are ignored and forgot in China,so most of us chose the one which is to go to the blind school.Personally the stray animals also need to be concerned.Our club leader is Echo who is from 12C,a very kind and sympathetic girl.She always sent us messages to remind us taking the food for the stray cats and dogs one week before our activity.

On October 25th, 2008.It was the time we went to the place where especially takes the stray cats and dogs in.The place is in the country side,we took the bus together on the GULONG street at 8am.We set out at about half past 9.There are about 20people in the bus,6adults and 14teenagers.After about half an hour the bus stopped and all of us got off the bus to buy something else to be more prepared for the stray cats and dogs.It took about one and half hours to reach the destination.We were divided into two groups,four of us and the manager there took a fraction of the food into a small room.To my surprise,there are about two hundreds stray dogs and cats in the room.The food we took were were polished off in next to no time.The manager's legs were rubbed because the dogs were too excited to meet the people who visited them.The manager said that they are so clever that they realize there will be someone visit them when the he clean up the place where them lived.At first we were sincerely terrified,however we understood that they were truly happy after a few minutes.

After feeding them we went to the next destination which is 1mile away from there.I was tongue tied when I got there.There are about five hundreds stray cats and dogs there.The food we took was a meal of sort for them."They are so poor." an old woman wailed."Yes they are,their lives will get better if there are more people like you."the manager answered.At that time I firmly resolved to visit them more and ask more people to raise money for them.

It was 5pm when we arrived at our school.I realized a lot and thought for a long time before going bed.Not only the people but also the animals that need to be cared.Animals are our friends.Why there are so many dogs and cats are abandoned?Should we reflect on our own thoughts and feelings?We should contribute our money as a token of our love to help them,to help our friend.

volunteer work

Last three days I worked in a store which especially sells milk tea.The shop is small and not very far from my school,it's about half mile away.There are only three people in the store,they are the shopkeeper,her son and me.I usually indent Jelly Pearl Milk Tea from there and the milk tea is terrific.Normally I won't buy the milk tea by walk instead of telephone because I am a lazybones.However I will buy it by walk now because of my three-days volunteer.

My task is to send the milk tea ordered by customers.The task is not as easy as I thought,a box of milk tea is very heavy and I hardly carry it for 1 minute.I have to travel east and west because the destinations are different.The requirement is rigorous,I have to reach the destination on time and ensure that the goods do not lack or I will pay it by myself.To make matters worse,I am an out lander and I have to ask the shopkeeper where the destinations are.Luckily the shopkeeper is kind and patient and she tells me the destinations time to time and remind me not to be late or the customer won't be happy and won't order the milk tea any more.Although the weather is cold,I was adrip with perspiration after sending the milk tea.The bicycle is the consistent friend to me,my work won't be continue without it.I never ride before being a volunteer and this is the new way for me to stimulate my body.

I really feel run down after being the volunteer,but I also earn a lot which I can't learn from the book.Although there are only 15 hours,they are so precious for me because this is what I paid.I don't realize the significance of equality fill till doing the work. Occupation is no respecter of persons and we shouldn't discriminate against the people who do the manual labor.In the contrary we should respect every occupation and every person.

Wu Weishan cultural figures sculpture gallery

We went to Nanjing university to enjoy the artworks which were made by Wu wenshan on Dec.4 2008.

Professor Wu Weishan was born in January 1962 in Dongtai, Jiangsu province.He is now a delegate of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, honorary professor of Nan XiaUniversity in South Korea, a member of Royal British Society of Sculptors, a member of Chinese Artists Association, president of the Sculpture Institute of the Chinese Academy of Arts and president of the Art Academy of Nanjing University.

Most of the artworks are made by professor Wu and a few of them are made by other famous artists in the exhibition center.Full of historical spirits,these sculptures of culturally famous persons were being shown in the exhibition.The artworks are traditional.

One of my favourite artwork in the exhibition is the "Queen of Holland".It was made in 1996 in Holland.The art work was made of yellow clay.Professor Wu used curves,straight lines ,triangles and columns in this artwork.The subject of this artwork is the queen.She is smiling in this artwork.

This artwork makes me feel warm and comfortable,especially the smiling of the queen.This artwork makes me think that to be a citizen of Holland is a pleasure.Look at the Queen,what a faithful person she is.Look at her smile,how confident she is.This artwork reminds me of an unforgettable moment during the Si Chuan earthquake,our chairman Hu Jintao said to the whole country:"We will conquer this natural disaster,everything will restore."Although the tears were rolling in his eyes,we all trust him because of him firm voice.He is the person who is worthy to trust,he is one of the greatest chairpersons in our history.Personally,I think the artist's intention is that to let people recognize the normal face of the Queen who is always having a smile on her face.

I really like this artwork.This artwork has nothing special but it looks ordinary.It records the very normal face of the Queen,it records the most attractive smile of the queen.The beautiful smile makes people feel comfortable and calm.It makes people feel that the queen is a confident person,she is worth trusting.It makes people think that she will improve our lives.I don't think other people might appreciate this artwork.It's too ordinary,whether a person will like it depends on himself.If he likes the thing which is special or abstract,he might not like this artwork.If you are the person who likes normal things,who pays attention to every simple thing around you ,you might like this artwork.

This visit to the Nanjing university give me a deep impression.I am glad to learn more.

An unforgettable dinner

We had a wonderful dinner with the students from grade 12 on December eighteenth.In order to realize the foreign culture ,we went to a Germany restaurant which is called "Secco".Three of my friends and I arrived at the restaurant at half of six and we were attracted deeply by the dining environment.The atmosphere there was terrific.The room was painted in harmonious colors,the candles lit up the room and everything was wine.It seemed that everything is especially prepared for us.

It was nearly 7 o'clock when everybody arrived and sit down.We asked the waitress to show us menu and ordered some thing.The diet was so monotonous that there were only two different kinds of caterings we could choose.I was so hungry that I ordered one of the caterings without seeing it because the menu was written by German and I didn't know the meaning at all.All of us were chatting with each other after ordering the caterings.The grade twelve students came and asked us what we wanted to know about the graduation or where we had difficulties during this term.The first course was ordered after about thirty minutes.I was really curies that why it took them so much time to place the dishes,maybe it was just because the cultural differences.However the food was delicious and I was crazy about them ,especially the beef.Until now I am still think of it.

The dinner was finished at about 9 o'clock.Although it took us about two and a half hours,the food was delicious and the drinks were also good.We took a photo together in the front of Secco and then we went home.This is my first time having a dinner in a Germany restaurant and I will never forget it.
